
The Islamic Development Bank has recognized ABB Innovation for its active contribution to Azerbaijan’s innovation ecosystem, particularly in developing innovative financial solutions and organizing hackathons aligned with current global challenges. The award was presented following the Islamic Development Bank Group’s Annual Meetings held in Baku, as part of the continuation of the event’s activities. The 5th IsDB Startup and Innovation Competition was also held in Baku in June as part of the Annual Meetings. The competition focused on strengthening innovation, artificial intelligence, finance, trade, and entrepreneurship across the markets of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. The event brought together entrepreneurs, innovators, and investors from OIC member countries. Participants presented innovative solutions aimed at addressing key development challenges. More than 220 startups applied to the competition across a wide range of fields, including artificial intelligence, agricultural technologies, food security, fintech, cybersecurity, sustainability, climate, supply chains, smart cities, human development, and healthcare. BIOSHELL was named the winner of the competition.
